Popular gay café and restaurant, great for lunch, breakfast and dinner. There are two Balans on Old Compton Street. To avoid confusion, one is a café, the other a restaurant (great for cocktails). Both are busy and serviced by cute gays.

Very welcoming to the gay community. Exceptionally good food, friendly staff and vibrant atmosphere, Bistro1 is a dining experience not to be missed. A long-established gay/lesbian cafe-bar. Upstairs in the cafe is pleasant and friendly, with nice veggie food and a good atmosphere. Downstairs is usually crowded and noisy. Popular with lesbians.
